After looking for years for the championships, Francisco “Django” Bustamante finally bagged the coveted and one of the most prestigious championships in pool sports, the 2010 9-Ball World Pool Championship. Bustamante defeated Kuo Po-cheng, 13-7, in the finals of the 2010 World Pool Championship at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation hall in Doha, Qatar Tuesday.
Bustamante also bagged the biggest purse in the tourney – $36,000 while Kuo got a runner-up prize of US$ 18,000. Lining and Archer received US$ 10,000 each for reaching the final four.
“By finally winning the world 9-ball, which is every pool player’s dream, I can now say that I am a complete billiards player,” said Bustamante in Filipino.
