Finally Mark Webber takes his first win of the season by dominating this weekend race in Barcelona Spain to take the chequered flag here in F1 Spanish GP. Webber put in a dominant performance to win the Spanish Grand Prix from Fernando Alonso and team-mate Sebastian Vettel .

Mark led this weekend race from start to finish and keep Lewis Hamilton at bay. hamilton should have finish the race in a podium position until a puncture in his tire stops him. Vettel stayed with Webber in the early stages but reliability issues again cost the German and he did well to nurse his car home on fading brakes.

Fernando Alonso grabs the 2nd place from Vettel. Here are the classification of the race.

It has been stated days ago that the Volkswagen are interested on becoming one of the engine supplier for Formula 1. Volkswagen has declared its interest in Formula One but as an engine supplier and not a works-based team.

According to Hans-Joachim Stuck, a former grand prix driver and now the motor sport representative of the Volkswagen, “It is clear that we are looking at formula one, We are waiting for the FIA’s decision in respect of the use of a world engine for F1. If there is, we will discuss whether to build it for formula one.”

Stuck also stated that the company would only be an engine supplier and not have “our own team like Mercedes”.

After winning the the 2nd race of the season in Australia, the race is still long to be decided and Button believes the most consistent driver will still be the one that wins.

“It is yeah, it’s still really close at the top, which is quite surprising in some ways,” Button said. “I don’t think I was the only one who thought that the new points system would reward the fastest drivers more than those who are simply more consistent. But we’ve seen in the first three races that consistency still counts for a lot. And, I’m told that the championship order at the front would still be unchanged if we were using last year’s scoring system, which is interesting.”

His team Mclaren is of the top teams in the sport and Button believes that his team McLaren has one of the most reliable packages on the grid and is confident that will put him in good stead for a challenge on the championship.

It is still a long way to go but teams are taking it step by step every race and Button is wary that other teams are getting stronger every race.
